The Administrative arm of the office, headed by the Assessor, supervises all the
functions of the eight (8) departments within the office.
They also:
- Supervise the valuation certification process and mail out the annual assessment cards for all properties within the County.
- Calculate and certify the levies of the independent taxing districts within the County.
- Provide reports and information to the County Board of Equalization and the State Board of Appeals, the Washington State Department of Revenue, The Washington State Auditor, the County Commissioners, the County Treasurer, and the legislative authorities of the independent taxing districts of Yakima County.
- Maintain the department's budget and payroll.
- Administer the Property Tax laws of the State of Washington as defined by the Revised Code of Washington and the Washington Administrative Code.
The Supervisor of each of the other departments report directly to the Administrative Department.
